Combination of a sales order, used for tracking revenue, and a work order, used for tracking labor, material and total cost.

Summary: A service order is a combination of a sales order and a work order. Sales order entry for a service order is no different than a regular sales order (Sales- sales order-list open). Once we are at the "list open sales orders" screen, click "new"- enter customer number- click line items- click "new"- item code- item type "job". This sales order will automatically create a new work order, and that will be used to collect material and/or labor costs. Once saved, the order has been completed. Now we have to work on the work order. Manufacture tab- transactions- post operations- find W/O- select operation- save. (xTuple Version 2.3.0)
