The electric utility industry is facing a shortage in qualified workers. If you like working with your hands, being outdoors, and aren't afraid of heights, a career as an Electric Utility Line Technician could be for you! Linemen start off earning great pay, up to $52,600 annually in Missouri, and there are opportunities to advance your career in the industry.

The program begins with a three-semester certificate that allows you to continue on to our associate's degree for an additional semester or transfer. Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative and Kansas City Power & Light helped develop this program so it prepares you for industry standards and demands.

Applications for the next class will be accepted through April 2013, but for priority placement and the opportunity to receive the most federal aid dollars possible, you should apply by October 31, 2012. Classes begin June 2013 at MCC-Business & Technology, located at 1775 Universal Ave., Kansas City, MO 64110.

To apply, visit http://www.mcckc.edu/linetech and download an application packet. If you have questions about the program or its requirements, or need help with the application process, contact Susan Blaser at 816.604.5613 or Susan.Blaser@mcckc.edu.
