This video shows an algorithm to localize inexpensive mobile robots such as Thymio (http://thymio.org) using only down-looking infrared sensors and a printed pattern of the ground.
It is the companion video of the DARS 2016 (http://dars2016.org) paper: "Localization of inexpensive robots with low-bandwidth sensors" by Shiling Wang, Francis Colas, Ming Liu, Francesco Mondada and Stéphane Magnenat.
