Europe's architectural landscape has been influenced by this art in countless ways. Nature is a source of inspiration for elaborate geometric designs and patterns.

The BBC website notes that the Muslim world's art "reflects its cultural values, and reveals the way Muslims view the spiritual realm and the universe".

The Imam Mosque complex with its open-air fountains in Isfahan and the Jamia Masjid in Delhi are architectural masterpieces which have inspired Western art.

Brighton's Royal Pavilion built between 1787 and 1823 for George IV is one such example with its "oriental style" domes and arches.
