http://twitter.com/theirchbrooks - Many businesses we work with are "geographically challenged," meaning that they can only do business locally.

For those businesses we recommend using Twitter's advanced search feature (start at http://search.twitter.com). Plug in your location and how far an area you want to cover, then hit the search button.

You'll be presented with local people using Twitter in real time...people that you can follow and engage with.

If you want to narrow your results you can put in some of your keyword phrases in addition to your location. A restaurant may use "hungry OR lunch" where a spa may use "nails OR pedicure."

You could follow these local tweeps and even offer them an incentive to come in and try your food or get a pedicure.
