Some of Los Angeles' most legendary and notorious street artists showed up at Book Soup to help launch Jim Daichendt's new book on street art and graffiti called "Stay Up". The lavishly illustrated color book celebrates some of the great art that has been painted on buildings, dumpsters, walls, anywhere the renegade artists can find a surface to paint on. Turning Los Angeles into one giant gallery, if left alone, would be a world- wide attraction. But sadly, the art is usually quickly painted over. A dude named Lord Jim has been driving around the City for over a decade snapping great shots of the colorful graphics before they are gone forever, painted over by evil doers who are intent on depriving the population of the opportunity to enjoy art right in their own neighborhoods, without having to pay to go to an expensive museum.
