NYC's own rockabilly scorchers Screamin' Rebel Angels are releasing their first full-length album titled Hitch Hike! The first single is a raging rockabilly, wild R&B, Yé-Yé dance floor burner called "MayDay." And we need your help for this crowd-sourced video!

Here's the concept, and we really hope that you all can help make this happen! So what we need is a 10-15 second maximum video clip of you dancing your heart out to "May Day" in your bedroom, or living room, or street corner, or wherever you feel inspired to shake it! Get creative, dance with your daughter, dance with Grandma, dance with your pup, dance alone or with your friends! All types of people, all ages are welcome and encouraged to submit. This is to show what music should be about: unbridled feeling and self-expression, and just enjoying that 2 minutes and 38 seconds where nothing else matters, where there are no cares, no cliques, and no one judging--just dancing and getting lost in the moment! Music is the great leveler and the language that we all can speak, so scream it with me and let your body shake with the holy spirit of Rock 'n Roll Revival!

The end project will be the submissions edited together for a full length video! We can't wait to see who is dancing with us! So this song is for everyone who just wants to feel the music and dance! So show us how you tear it up and let it out! Show use that you can feel real music! Viva le Rock 'n Roll!

"MayDay" was written by Laura Rebel Angel, and was inspired by Pin-Up sensation and all-around nice girl and friend, Doris MayDay. This is about a night when Screamin' Rebel Angels were on tour in California, and were playing to a room packed with beautiful rockabillies and psychobillies, who were all just kind of sitting, and not really sure what to do or to whom to talk, and not sure if they were allowed to let loose and have fun yet. Then in comes Ashley, (Doris MayDay) with her "Squirrels" and they just start smiling and dancing with everyone, as if a breathe of fresh air came through the doors and everyone remembered that it's OK to just be dancing and having fun. To stop caring about being seen or being scene, and just let loose and be in the moment. By the end of the night, everyone was dancing, making friends and memories, and I wanted to write a song about it, so I did!

We all have feelings of uncertainty, self-consciousness and loneliness while being surrounded by people, especially in a scene. Each and every one of us has felt that at some point. So this song is for everyone who just wants to feel the music and dance! So show me how you tear it up and let it out! Show me that you can feel real music!

Take a 10-15 second video clip of yourself losing it and dancing to MayDay! Shoot it on your iPhone or SmartPhone, and email it to maydayvideosubmit at gmail.com along with a signed release, that is attached below. You can print out and sign it, and send in a photo or scan of it. If you are under 18, make sure your parents or legal guardians sign it too!
Please do not sing along, as it will be nearly impossible to sync anything, as I am not a professional editor! The deadline for the video submissions is Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013. But please start to send them in early so I can get started. The earlier you send it, the better your chances of being featured!
