2 days after Worlds has ended and here it is… my West Coast Swing video to this year’s League of Legends World Championships anthem, Phoenix.

The day the song was released, I hard committed to this project, with the intention of challenging myself as a dancer and editor/filmmaker. The song to me is about the “demons in your head” - I see that as self doubt and insecurity. Many times while rushing to conceptualise the video, look for locations, figure out crew, equipment and logistics with pretty much no budget, and then through the long editing nights, I thought “why am I doing this to myself?” Could I even pull it off? My dancing looks pretty mediocre and my acting is questionable. What if it turned out really cringy? Then I had to remind myself that this is what the song is about and that I had to just go through the process and push myself, that exactly because I had never done anything like this is the reason I should be doing it.

And I have learnt so much making this. I’ve never done a video like this before, where I am conceptualising, choreographing, dancing, directing, editing and animating (animating?? what is this animation thing I can’t draw). It was truly a labour of love, with a passionate team of my friends and colleagues behind me to make it happen and I am truly grateful for all the hard work and effort that everyone put in.

Ty Riot for the awesome song and animation. If you haven’t seen it already what are you doing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1IKn...
