The Boker Applegate-Fairbairn Combat Knife was designed by Rex Applegate and W.E. Fairbairn 1943. This knife was their idea of an ideal fighting knife that would correct many of the faults created in combat knives during WWII. I purchased this knife for my collection because I think it fits well among other fighting knives such as the Ka-bar. This knife checks in with an overall length of 10 3/4 inches long and a blade length of 6 inches. Boker uses 440C stainless for the blade steel and applied a satin finish that I think makes the knife look amazing. True to the original design, this knife has steel weights in the handle in order to provide an overall balance. Depending on the users preferences the wights can be removed all together or only a few to meet the users needs. The knife also has a brass guard with an individual serial number stamped along the side. Overall this is a beautiful knife and it will be welcomed along with the many other knives in my collection.
