The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect for auto theft in Mantua.

The incident occurred on August 14, 2013, at 6:10am, on the 3900 block of Lancaster Avenue. The complainant had left his 2005 Gold Dodge Durango parked with the engine running while he went inside a coffee shop. While the complainant was inside an unknown male entered the complainant's vehicle and fled the area and was last seen on the 3900 block of Spring Garden Street where the suspect hit an unmarked and unoccupied police vehicle. After the accident, the suspect fled the area on foot leaving the vehicle unoccupied.

Suspect Description: Black male, thin build, wearing a blue shirt with white letters across the front and dark colored pants.
