ElectriCities of North Carolina has developed a program called E-tracker for high school students. This program, supported through a DEED grant provided by APPA, is the first of its kind. How does it work? Students are asked to examine the electric usage in their homes, notating the kilowatts various appliances expend. The students also monitor weather trends and determine how weather can affect residential energy use and electric utility bill fees. This has been a successful program. Check out the video and hear straight from the students what they learned by participating in the E-tracker program.
