The blizzard which struck Western South Dakota on October 4-7 left behind devastating losses--80,000 cattle, sheep and horses dead (and counting). Ranch families left without means to pay their bills or keep the lights on. Months of clean-up and years of rebuilding ahead. I wanted to do something to help and I thought this little video might help tell their story and get the word out.
It is not fancy, but it shows some of what South Dakota's ranchers are dealing with. There is no way the photos can ever do justice to how deeply these losses affect this area. Please share far and wide, we need all the help we can get!
