Vivian and Phil Williams play "Gal on the Log," a tune played by soldiers in the Civil War, as part of their presentation of their program "Fiddle Tunes of the Civil War" at the Kenmore, WA library. This tune also was played by fiddler Jake Lake at the wedding of Catherine Jane Maple and Henry Van Asselt in a cabin on the Duwamish River, Seattle, on Christmas day, 1862. Vivian learned this tune from a 78 rpm record recorded in 1925 by fiddler Captain Moses Bonner, who fought in the Civil War.
