We take pictures of our food, pets, homes and loved-ones and share them online. We watch concerts, theatre performances and other events through thousands of screens. And we prefer social interaction through a device, rather than walking over to someone to ask a question. This has raised a concern in Ben Langeveld & Ingmar Larsen; with a piece of plastic and a large dose of irony they share their story about their ingenious invention the NoPhone. A device which does absolutely nothing but make you aware of the amount of time you spend on your smartphone.
Ben Langeveld and Ingmar Larsen are the founders of the One Hour Agency during Hyper Island Stockholm. As creatives at Silver + Partners New York, they created the NoPhone.
Next to their work as creatives at 180 Amsterdam, they continued working on solutions for social issues. Resulting in, for example, 'Pakjesavond Voor Iedereen' a country wide exchange of Santaclaus gifts between strangers.
