A talk by Bartomeu Marí and Dr Ulrich Loock on the occasion of the launch of Ahlam Shibli's artist book "Go there, Eat the mountain, Write the past", 29 September 2011.
Bartomeu Marí is the director of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA). Marí is the author of numerous publications and chief curator of MACBA since 2004. He has previously held the role as exhibition curator at the Fondation pour l'Architecture in Brussels and as director of the Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam. In 2002 he co-curated the Taipei Biennial in Taiwan, and in 2005 he served as curator for the Spanish Pavilion at the 51st Venice Biennial.
Dr. Ulrich Loock is a writer, art critic, curator, and lecturer at the Bern University of the Arts. He is the author of numerous publications and has served as the Director of Kunsthalle Bern, and the Museum of Art Lucerne in Switzerland. From 2003 to 2010, Ulrich Loock was the Deputy Director of Museu Serralves in Porto.
