Trey Yocum scored from seven yards out in the third overtime to push Monmouth to a 33-27 triple overtime win over Illinois Wesleyan in the First Round of the NCAA Playoffs. The Scots trailed 17-0 in the first half, before Nick Law scored on a seven yard run to break the ice with 1:30 left in the half. After an Alex Tanney to Yocum 17-yard TD toss in the third period, Matt Batton hit a 38-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to tie the game. The Scots' winning score in overtime was set up when Preston Lumzy recovered a Titan fumble at the two-yard line. Monmouth will play at St. Thomas next Saturday in the second round.
