One of the greatest Western RPGs ever released is now available for purchase from Good Old Games as a DRM-free digital download, and 6 dollars is a very reasonable price for such a true classic.

Betrayal at Krondor is based on the well-known fantasy author Raymond E. Feist's work and as such includes unusually good writing and memorable characters (Feist didn't write any of the text in the game but actually wrote a book based on Betrayal at Krondor's story several years after the game's release).

More importantly, however, the gameplay itself is a lot of fun and combines a really nice party-based/turn-based combat system with genuinely rewarding exploration of a huge game world (and the clear division into chapters based on the story development ensures that the experience never gets overwhelming). The blocky textureless 3D graphics look a bit dated by now, but the gameplay has aged really well and the remarkably easy-to-use interface makes Betrayal at Krondor one of the few truly accessible older RPGs out there.
