Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain was the first in the series exploring the story of Kain, Raziel, the Nephelim and the Vampires. Our story begins as nobleman Kain seeks a drink at a tavern as night falls.

Kicked out of the establishment, he set upon by bandits and murdered. Kain, in the afterlife, wanting nothing but vengeance, makes a deal with a powerful necromancer to return... but at what cost.
