In an HVAC/R system, the pressure sensor is a critical component for monitoring the condition of the refrigerant. In chillers and rooftop refrigeration systems, it is not uncommon for frost or ice to develop around the exterior of the sensor. Frost and ice are known to damage pressure sensors that may have been poorly designed.
Honeywell PX3 Series Heavy Duty Pressure Transducers are a sensing solution designed to more effectively resist several cycles of external freeze-thaw without frequent failure. To simulate what may happen in the actual application, in Honeywell’s lab we exposed the PX3 Series sensor to external freeze-thaw conditions.
