Decided to experiment today, flew my 16m Zakospeed with my paramotor. Total take off weight was around 138KG's!!!! Winds where light, less then 12km/hr, temperature was around 8 degrees Celsius, altitude at take off was roughly 2362' (720m) above sea level.
I had a slight oscillation on launch, once I controlled it I took off with a slightly longer run. I found that the Zakospeed does tend to torque steer however it can be made to fly straight by letting the right hand trimmer out by an inch or so.
The Zakospeed is quiet solid at such a high wing loading (8.6KG/square meter), the climb rate is comparable to my Nucleon in reflex mode, the handling is very sharp. I landed with the trimmers released completely out, the approach was fast and steep but the flare was powerful and easy to read.
I would like to try this wing in the wintertime with my motor and skis, I think that it would be great fun!
