Hi, Donovan with Lubix Cube here.
By request, here is a complete 5 part tutorial teaching you the basics of the Roux method I use to solve the Rubik's cube.
I break down each step using partially stickered cubes to highlight the moves on each step. I chose to do this to make it easier for you to see what each step accomplishes without the distractions of all the pieces on the cube. All the videos are first person perspective, so you see exactly what I see during a solve.
I give several example cases for each step and cover many situations you are likely to see while solving a cube using Roux.
This should be very helpful on learning Roux, even if it is your first method for solving the cube. However knowing a few algorithms like the Sune, and J Perm are helpful in solving with this method, and should be learned first. (UPDATED: ADDED IN PART 3)
My average and PB solves AO5: 19.xx AO12: 22.xx Average of 100 = 24.xx PB = 12.73
Video List: Part 1:5 = (Left) 1st Block Part 2:5 = (Right) 2nd Block Part 3:5 = Corner Orientation (7 algs) Permutation (J and Y Perm) Part 4:5 = Edge Orientation Part 5:5 = Cycling Edges / Solved!
So grab your cube, sit down, and take some time to enjoy learning the Roux Method.
Thank you for watching, and I hope you enjoy my "Rouxtorial".
