Jackie Evancho performing O Mio Babbino Caro at age 8, 9 and 10. Lyrics follow, see project specs below.
"O Mio Babbino Caro" ("Oh My Dear Papa")
by Giacomo Puccini.
(Jackie's version excludes lyrics within brackets):
Oh my dear papa,
I love him, he is handsome, handsome.
I want to go to Porta Rossa
To buy the ring!
Yes, yes, I want to go there!
And if my love were in vain,
I would go to the Ponte Vecchio
And throw myself in the Arno!
I am anguished and tormented!
( Oh God, I'd like to die! )
( Papa, have pity, have pity! )
Papa, have pity, have pity!
Surfing for classical music on the web led me to the awesomely talented Missy Evancho performance on AGT ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPITHz... ). I decided to create a tri-part montage showcasing a video timeline of Jacqueline Marie (Jackie) Evancho performing O Mio Babbino Caro between ages 8, 9 and 10. Viewers can therefore see and hear her progression as she performs this Aria. Subtitles provide a translation of what is sung.
Curious in discovering the musical intrigue behind this phenomenon, and after reading up on numerous comments and observations made by fans and professionals alike, I can only hope that Jackie be prudently led into this journey towards musical emancipation by letting her develop and refine -- in her own expressive way -- such audacious talent radiating within her. Jacqueline, You Go Girl!
Premiere was used in this video montage and CoolEdit helped in filtering out noisy artifacts of audio tracks. Enjoy! - dan
