On February 7, 2007 members of Mercy For Animals held a silent vigil outside the annual Ohio Pork Congress in downtown Columbus, Ohio.
MFA members displayed signs and distributed literature describing how on factory farms mother pigs are treated like breeding machines, enduring a constant cycle of artificial insemination until they "wear out" and are shipped to slaughter.
