This talk, given on the 29th October 2009 by Brian David Johnson, as part of the ShanghAI Lecture series, was an early exploration of Science Fiction Prototyping as a novel methodology to create new research opportunities and commercial products, based around the concept of integrating science fiction and fact within a regenerative prototyping cycle. This video is very useful for anyone new to Science-Fiction Prototyping, since it provides a mini-tutorial on the topic. The ShanghAI Lectures were a video conference-based lecture series on Embodied Intelligence run by Rolf Pfeifer, Nathan Labhart and partners around the world. Science Fiction Prototyping was devised by Brian David Johnson, Intel's Futurist, who worked with Prof Vic Callaghan (Essex University) & Dr Simon Egerton (Monash University) to establish the 'Creative Science Foundation' (CSf) to promote this methodology; for more information see www.creative-science.org
