The Maitree Express is an international passenger train service connecting Dhaka (Dacca), Bangladesh and Kolkata (Calcutta), India. The name 'Maitree Express' means 'Friendship Express.'

There are two pairs of trains per week, each running once in each direction. One train belongs to Indian Railways and the other belongs to Bangladesh Railway.

The train shown here is owned by Bangladesh Railway, hauled by an Indian diesel-electric locomotive on tracks belonging to Eastern Railway of the Indian Railways at Kalyani, West Bengal.
