To all the ignorents Whitney was the first rnb based singer to cross over to pop and have that kind of successes her first cd was the first cd by any female ever to sell 4 million coppies and then the first to go diamond. It was the biggest debut cd if all time for the first 10 years of its life. She was the first solider and if u know about black woman's place in music you would know this donna Summer's biggest cd sold 2 million coppies Whitney outsold her whole career off her first cd, then her 2nd cd came out sold 9 million in the USA alone and off them 2 CDs she had 7 back to back number 1s do u know how huge that is. That means her first 2 CDs were all number 1 songs with the exception of her 1 song which was rnb, but when she went pop she crushed everyone with 7 number 1 in a row! Not even Elvis or anyone has done that! She was the first and for a woman it's even sweeter!!!!! Now carry on!!!!!!!

I loved Whitney from the jump. I love Miki too. They both can sing their behinds off. That's what's most important.

She spoke the truth. You could feel Whit reaching out to the black community because she felt rejected.
Jp Reddy
That was by far the most real thing I've heard about Whitney.

When her getting booed at the Soul Train Awards is brought up - it was 3 years later on her friends show the Arsenio Hall show, and he brought it up after she had work with some R & B producers from the R & B scene. She was booed because she was a pop star and not an R & B artist. It was in 1988 the second year of the awards and the community didn't feel she should have been nominated. They awards were created to celebrate the R & B recording community in america. Houston had a gotten huge promotion and personal attention from CD and Arista, something that was not afforded to many ever in the industry let alone the R & B community of the time.

Miki is real, never thought about Whitney in that way.
Susan Farris
Whitney has a self-esteem problem. If she didn't, then what others said about her wouldn't have mattered to her.
