On May 17, 2011, 477 Mailman School students received a Master's Degree and another 35 earned their doctorate. Students heard a rousing, ovation-winning commencement address from Linda Rae Murray, MD, MPH, president of the American Public Health Association. Dr. Murray referred to the old adage that when public health is working, it is invisible. "Refuse to be invisible," she urged the graduates. Take a visible stand for social justice in public health.
