#1 ranked 2013 Oregon player by Baseball Northwest, Matthew Decker is a multi-position player. Recently the starting catcher for his high school varsity team as a sophomore, he was always a threat for base runners with a POP time of 1.8 seconds. Matthew usually batted 4th or 5th in the lineup, and was also a strong base runner. Matthew started pitching again with a lot of success in summer ball, and had his fastball clocked at 87 mph. Matthew is a gifted athlete, and plays first base and outfield well. He has a GPA of 3.8, and is now considering strong baseball and academic programs at the collegiate level.
