Richard Grayson, Three Real Things, 1982

A short set of images and actions, accompanied by a voice-over, that constitutes a meditation on the relationship between language and images through illustration, metanym, synecdoche, allusion and pun. The work was staged in the studio and edited in camera rather than on an edit-deck. As the camera could be put on pause only for a short time before the image rolled or decayed it involved a complex choreography of camera props and performers. Curated into the 1983/4 Infermental 3 video touring exhibition in the category 'Eccentrics'
