In April 2008 two men, Hervé le Gallou and Dave McDonnell, BASE jumped from the 155th floor of the yet to be completed Burj Khalifa in Dubai. They infiltrated the building posing as two engineers and proceeded to use the stairwell to reach the top. They then waited two hours until the sun rose to make the jump. Le Gallou and another man returned a few days later to attempt a second jump, but were caught by security and arrested. After spending three months in prison Le Gallou was allowed to return to his homeland of France having paid a fine. Sadly, Hervé le Gallou was killed in a BASE jumping accident in the French Alps on June 23, 2012.
