From Dr. Drew Pinsky's HLN show
As I posted on Dr. Phil's Facebook page:
This Judge is doing to his daughter, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy (CP) what my stepfather used to do to me (I have Tourettes Syndrome) until my father, aunt, and grandparents intervened. Right before my high school graduation, while my mother was sick with Breast Cancer, he confessed to me that he beat my half brother with a belt. My stepfather and his mother lied to my half brother and I about the legality of it here in Maryland, he said that belt beatings were legal in Maryland, when in fact they are not legal in Maryland, they are still legal in some of the Bible belt states and in Virginia where he and his family are from (spanking/paddling in schools is still legal in Texas), plus spanking with the hand is legal in Maryland only when a parent does it (not a step-parent, school teacher, aunt, uncle, grandparent, friend, neighbor, etc.). I wonder what Texas Governor and presidential candidate Republican Rick Perry thinks about this?
