On tax day, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) today responded to President Obama's recent proposal to increase taxes once again as a way to address the nation's fiscal crisis. A leading fiscal conservative, Inhofe remains an ardent opponent of the President's plan.
"Today, when the average American household files a tax return, they'll realize that they sent over $20,000 to Washington last year. If this isn't enough money to run the government - then I don't know what is. My pledge to you is that I will continue to fight President Obama and his liberal colleagues as they pursue more tax-and-spend policies. American's demand and deserve better, and that is why my goal is to lower your taxes - not raise them."
