"See you" was written and recorded in January 2017, and mixed and mastered for this music video in April. The video combines Finn singing and playing the song with teatrical clips switching between reality and dreams or the unreal. As with a painting with abstract elements, it's up to each individual to interpret the song's and video's message.
Finn's two youngest sons, Simon (15) and Benjamin (11) shot most of the video's scenes. Benjamin also plays the boy character who prefers the singer "alive" rather then "dead" at 1:40. He also takes over the singer's shoes and jacket at 2:57 when he towards the end of the story has vanished to somewhere unknown.
VERSE 1: I can pretend, I can pretend to feel you, why can't I feel you, see you, over again and over again? Now that I'm lost, now that I'm lost without you, why did I choose you, lose you over again and over again?
CHORUS: See you, why can't I feel you, see you in my dreams like I used to? See you, why did I have you, deep inside my world just to lose you?
VERSE 2: I can pretend, I can pretend to hold you, what if I told you I'll hold you over again, all over again? Now that I fall, now that I fall from the sky, trying to see why did you lie over again and over again?
CHORUS: See you...
BRIDGE: I can pretend, I can pretend to feel you (x 4)
