I. Andante Comodo Nigel Kennedy, Viola Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Andre Previn.
The Primrose version, recorded in 1946, also on Youtube, is a recording of the original 1929 version of the work. In 1962, the composer rescored the work for a reduced orchestra, using double rather than triple woodwind, adding a harp and removing one trumpet and the tuba. In the course of the rescoring, he made certain changes in tempo indications, dynamics etc affecting the work as a whole. While the composer authorized that both the original and the new orchestration may be used, he strongly preferred the new version.
