Vanderbilt Alumni Career Services presents "Start-ups 101," a webinar recorded on December 7, 2016 with Career Coach Tiffany Franklin (BA'96).

Start-up fever seems to be everywhere these days, whether it’s an episode of Shark Tank or watching Silicon Valley on HBO. Entrepreneur centers are popping up all over the country and the Wall Street Journal and New York Times are filled with stories about these types of companies. Have you ever considered working for a Start-Up or launching your own?

This webinar will explore differences between start-ups and larger, more established companies in terms of culture and daily workflow. We will discuss factors to consider as you decide to take that leap and review a wide array of sites to help you identify opportunities with start-ups. Networking is key when it comes to connecting with founders, so we will talk about how to use VUConnect and LinkedIn to connect with VU alumni in this sphere. We will also discuss ways to find start-up resources in cities across the country.
