Our batter just hit a homerun over the fence. The umpire called him out at home saying "he didn't touch the plate." He made this call only after being instructed too from the scorekeeper sitting behind the backstop. It clearly shows the umpire is out in the infield throwing a ball to the pitcher when our runner crossed the plate. He is a Ravenna umpire and we are playing a Ravenna team....all makes sense now doesn't it. He also told Ravenna officials that he was standing behind home plate when the runner crossed and that is how he made his judgement call. Really Mr. Umpire? Hope you are ok that you took this homerun away from a 10 yr old and more importantly you took a district tournament game right our of our teams hands. You and your fans got what you wanted! I thought umpires were supposed to be fair and unbiased........you must have missed that part in the Ohio Hot Stove Rule Book.
