Last week, I got an opportunity to join a select group of men and women entrepreneurs for a mastermind at Tai Lopez's mansion in Beverly Hills. I was a guest of a good friend, Flint Herold, CEO of BizFlip USA, and found a lot of like-minded individuals who understood the power of automation marketing and where the digital landscape was going the next few years.
I met guys who turned $4 million spent in Facebook Ads into $20 million in new business! Another guy from Australia who had multiple successful companies in a variety of different industries. Fitness twins who were launching a new digital coaching program to monetize the large social media following they've been getting, just to name a few!
All these amazing business professionals coming together... to serve... give advice... share ideas... add value to one another.
A lot of these men and women had a similar mindset to the man of the hour, Tai Lopez. I had never met him before this night. I had seen him online but hadn't really paid attention to the ongoing social media content he puts out. My thoughts on him before coming in was he was in some sort of personal development, like a lot of entrepreneurs are, and focused on books. I couldn't have been more wrong.
To me, he's a genius. He makes it simple. Breaks it down to where you only need to have an open mind to understand how to be successful online. He even creates digital courses to train people the step by step who are interested in learning. I've met many of his students who are having success in what he teaches. It's not mindset training. It's not walking over hot coals. It's simple, practical steps on how to monetize your talents and ideas.
For example: he has a "Social Media Mastery" course (I think that's what it's called) where he teaches you how to go to business owners in specific types of industries, connect with them, and show them a way where you can manage their social media for $2000-$5000 per month! I know there's a lot more to it than that but the point is, he's promoting what's relevant. I'm watching entrepreneurs being sucked down a rabbit hole of wasted efforts. Focusing on things that won't be useful in 10 years. Tai understands technology. He understands trends. He knows where the market is headed. The guy even has a plan on how to elect presidents! How funny, I've been toying with the idea of running for President of the United States in 8 years, looks like I've got my contact for my Social Media campaign manager!
Here are the 3 things I learned from Tai Lopez:
1. Working hard doesn't relate to wealth You should be able to get what you need done in your business in 3-4 hours a day. If you're spending 10-12 hours a day on your business, you're doing something wrong!
2. Hold what motivates you close to you visually One of the stories he was sharing was about having a visual representation of what motivates you that stuck out was a friend of his who keeps stacks of hundred dollar bills right next to his bed so it's the 1st thing he sees in the morning, and the last thing he sees when he goes to sleep.
3. The VS. Test If you want to see what truly motivates you or have problems figuring out which route to choose, give yourself the VS. Test. Take the most extreme of each case to see which you would choose. For example: let's say you want to know if you value money or freedom. Would you live off $50,000 a year for life, have vacations, not too fancy, but you traveled, had the freedom to live where you wanted... or would you rather have $10,000,000 a year for 10 years, but be stuck in a career that required you to have no vacations, no days off, you hated the job, but you got $10,000,000 a year for 10 years? After that, you could do what you want. What would you choose? Do this with anything you struggle with and you'll find what motivates you pretty easily that way.
