M.A.C.S. did it again! Ohio University's Monocular Autonomously-Controlled Snowplow won the Autonomous Snowplow Competition 2012 in St. Paul, MN, January 2012.
M.A.C.S. is a 4-wheel drive, 550 lbs heavy, 5 pk strong autonomous snowplow robot, that uses LIDAR navigation to find its path. After a very successful first competition last year, M.A.C.S. came back better than ever. With new motors, new motor controllers, upgraded metal frame, better navigation algorithms, and improved controller software, M.A.C.S. crushed the competition, and everything else that came in its way...
