Furman placekicker Ray Early has been named National Placekicker of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards for his stellar play Saturday against Chattanooga, it has been announced.

Early, a senior from Darlington, S.C., converted all three field goal attempts from distances of 50, 31, and 43 yards against the Mocs for the first three-field goal performance of his career. The 50-yard effort marked his third longest field goal as a Paladin, and the 43-yarder extended his consecutive field goals made streak to five. He also averaged 44.0 yards on five punts against UTC to maintain his status as the SoCon's top punter on the season (44.1 avg.).

The performance against Chattanooga moved Early into seventh place on Furman's all-time kick scoring ledger with 185 points.

Furman entertains Appalachian State this Saturday at Paladin Stadium in a 1:30 p.m. game.
