On Sunday 29 August 2010, the Daylesford Spa Country Railway celebrated the re-opening of the railway line between the 74 milepost and Musk, through the Wombat State Forest.

The DSCR have previously operated to Bullarto, but the line was cut in February 2009 when bushfires burnt out the section of track between the 73 and 74 mileposts.

On 22 February 2010, $300,000 in Bushfire recovery funding was recieved from the Community Enterprise FoundationTM, an initiative of Bendigo Bank. This funding was used to repair the damage in the forest between Daylesford and Musk. Puffing Billy contractors and DSCR volunteers completed the work in mid August 2010 after months of hard work.

On 29 August, the 10:00am train from Daylesford became the last train to run to the temporary stop board at the edge of the forest. The following departure at 11:00am was a special to Musk for the re-opening ceremony. Public services resumed with the 12:30pm train. All services were run by 280hp Walker Railmotor 91RM, which is the only one of it's type in operation.

For more information about the DSCR please visit http://www.dscr.com.au/. The DSCR is an operating museum re-creating the days of Victorian Railways branch line railmotor travel. Heritage trains operate every Sunday and The Silver Streak champagne train operates on the first Saturday of every month.
