Damien Filer of Progress Florida leads the panel discussion on the Koch Brothers Foundation's intervention at FSU with featured guests:

Listen to the prank-call: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBnSv3...
Jeff Wright, Director of Public Policy Advocacy, Florida Education
Association;
State Representative Scott Randolph (D-Orlando)

In 2008, FSU entered into an agreement in which the Charles G. Koch Foundation provided the University with $1.5 million for the creation of the following in the FSU Ecomonics Department:

Three advanced professorship positions
Two assistant professorship positions
One teaching specialist position
An undergraduate program in economics

All of the above are contractually obligated to promote the Koch Foundation's ideological agenda, namely to fight the regulatory power of government and limit the restrictions placed upon big business.

While the notion of wealthy individuals donating to the University is nothing new, this situation threatens the freedom of the University from outside manipulation because of the unprecedented control it gives the Koch Foundation over the hiring process.

This agreement between the Koch Foundation and FSU is an immediate result of the billionare Koch brothers' efforts to use academia as a tool to promote their libertarian agenda.

OUR UNIVERSITY IS NOT FOR SALE!

What you can do:

E-mail FSU President Barron and tell him you do not support allowing the Koch Foundation to threaten your university's academic integrity: ebarron@fsu.edu
