Part 1 of a 2-part talk. Presented by Nicole Gugliucci (aka The Noisy Astronomer). Views expressed are those of the speaker and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Skepticamp DC organizers.

Educational research has long favored active methods of learning at all age levels. I'll talk about some fun ways of doing hands-on science with your kids, and how Dark Skies, Bright Kids in Virginia is bringing interactive astronomy activities to the classroom. This short
talk is complete with demonstrations that you can do at home, including a skeptical look at a commercial product.
