Mini bio: Surf rock band formed in San Bernardino, California in 1963 comprising Manuel "Manny" Rodriguez (lead guitar, his name is misspelled on label writing credits as Rodrigues), Johnny Alves (rhythm guitar), Corky Ballinger (drums), Roger Anderson (bass) and Mike Le Doux on tenor sax.

Manuel and The Renegades released just two 45's, both in 1963, and all four sides are smokin' surf instrumentals that were an important part of the great surf instrumental rock & roll scene that existed in Los Angeles in the early 1960's.

This recording is from "Hot Rod Hop-Various Artists-Buffalo Bop" CD.
