Check out the Kettlebell 1-Arm Floor Press as a great alternative to the barbell bench press.

The use of the kettlebell requires more shoulder stability than the barbell alternative which is great for injury reduction.

Plus, by performing the movement one side at a time there is much greater core activation and stabilization demands than when performing simultaneously.
