**NEWS** I made a pdf on how to turn this body-cast into a paper pattern ready to sew! See below for how to get your FREE copy!**

This tute covers how to fit yourself for a custom corset- getting the best possible fit and saving you many hours of pattern-making-pain.
I was told about this technique by a fab lady when we were at MIT together, and it's been so helpful I wanted to share it.

I make all my lolita JSK's using a pattern I made from this body cast - it's such a great way to get perfectly fitting clothing.

Extra Tips:

This will be easier if you can get a friend to do your taping for you, but as long as you pull your tape before you stick down you should still get a nice symmetrical corset.

I would usually use masking tape, or a paper tape because it's easier to draw your pattern markings on, but this thinner packing tape is easier to use if you want to try making this on your own.

When the corset pattern is complete, mark the centre of your back, centre front (at your belly-button), and the centre side point of your ribs with a line in permanent marker. Or if that's a little tricky just a dot is fine and you can rule in the line later.

I'll happily answer any q's you have so follow via @tattaratscat on twitter, or www.facebook.com/tattaratscat

**For your FREE copy of the step-by-step pdf on how to pattern-make your own corset from start to finish:
Step 1: like my page: www.facebook.com/tattaratscat
Step 2: P.M. me with your email address and I'll send the pdf straight to your inbox.

From there you can pattern-make your own singlets, dresses, Lolita JSK's etc - anything from this base pattern will fit beautifully.

Happy sewing!
