New Jersey Governor Chris Christie Signs Bipartisan Pension and Health Benefits Reform Bill Into Law at the Trenton War Memorial on Tuesday, June 28, 2011. (Transcript Below)

Governor Christie: A year ago right now we lived without a 2% property tax cap. A year ago right now we lived without a 2% cap and significant reform to the interest arbitration system and without these pension and health benefit reforms. Those are significant changes that folks have been screaming to get for years and in the course of a year we've been able to accomplish all three of those big things that will make property taxes in New Jersey much better, but people will actually see the on the ground effects I think for the first time in August of '12 although a lot of people are seeing the benefits already in these bills of the cap in particular because you only had 14 municipalities who had cap waiver elections in the last year and a small number of school boards as well.
