I love my Nexus 7, but have always been disappointed with the speaker. It can get distorted with the volume over halfway. Yes I can use earphones, but I don't always want to, they get all tangled when lying in bed. I noticed if I squeezed the tablet, around the speaker grill the distortion would stop. So I figured it was the actual speaker assembly moving in the case not distortion from volume - enter some plastic tools form iFixit :-) I cracked open the case and put a bit of bubble wrap just on top of the speaker assembly, not covering the speakers, then closed it all back up again. Worked really well. The overall volume has dropped a tiny bit, but there is no longer any distortion. - Thanks Ben for randomly videoing this while I wasn't watching.
