Granite Falls Soundscape was filmed at the only major waterfall along the South Fork Stilliguamish River and by a town which gets it's name from the falls as well. The falls cascade about 40 vertical feet in about a 300 foot run. There was a 540 foot long fish ladder that paralles the river along the falls, which also serve as the primary viewing platform. The waterfall is about 1 mile out of town along southern reaches of Mountain Loop Highway. There is a sign that says "Granite Falls Fishway" to mark where to park and then follow pathway down hill to falls area. There where quite a few people that stopped in while I was there filming this clip. The sound was loud and powerful bringing a wonderful white noise to this clip. The sun was out so it was a sweet day to be up in the woods here in the Great Northwest.
