In this intro tutorial about After Effects iExpressions you learn how to create two different kinds of text animations in After Effects using expressions.

First we look at the news Ticker iExpression which allows you to create these typical news ticker messages that consist of an endless single line that scrolls though your screen.

Then we look at the Scroll Text Terminal iExpression that offers an easy way to create scrolling text. It is tailored to simulate the output of computer terminals. In particular, you can append a blinking carret (cursor) symbol at the end of your text.
