We speak with Professor Richard Abels of the United States Naval Academy at the Charles Homer Haskins Conference at Boston College. Professor Abels gave a paper entitled, "Representations of Warfare in the Morgan Picture Bible" which examines the medieval warfare depictions in this 13th century manuscript (also known as the Maciejowski Bible). He also talks about how medieval military historians can make use of medieval art in their research.
